My name is Edgar Diaz. I am an artisan and creative perfumist who has recently become an entrepreneur; I now run my own perfume brand, LADY CONFIDENCE. This brand, which personifies confidence as a goddess (just as luck is often referred to as Lady Luck and justice is personified as The Blind Justice), was born out of a deeply personal journey. Every bottle, every drop, every decision is the result of a purpose I discovered through years of passion, curiosity, and alignment with a higher mission. Today, I create perfumes by hand and tailor each one to the individual who will wear it; I offer these aromas in person, in live sessions, where we co-create something that represents who they are. My reputation, which is built on quality and sincerity, is what carries my name forward, and it is the reason I now dedicate my full time and energy to this project.
Before launching LADY CONFIDENCE, I worked in education and the arts. I was a middle school art teacher for five years and later worked as a creative consultant and designer. My background in color theory, visual composition, and storytelling now influences everything I do, from label design to scent identity. My curiosity in perfumery began in 2013, when I became a frequent client of a custom perfumer named Carmen. Over time, she took me in as her informal apprentice; I observed, asked questions, and learned all of her materials and processes, eventually creating my own formulas, adjusting concentrations, and experimenting with oils and pheromones. In 2023, she sold her franchise and became my raw-material supplier, meaning I had over a decade of knowledge and experience before ever starting the business. A year later, in 2024, my best friend invited me to a big city where I saw novice perfumers charging high prices for poor quality. I told him I could do better; he replied, “Then you should start a business.” A week later, I did. Since then, LADY CONFIDENCE has been my full-time profession.
What distinguishes my brand is not only its origin but its mission. My products are designer-level aromas, often better, crafted with oil-based elixir concentrations (40% perfume oil) and offered at attainable prices. I take pride in not taking advantage of my clients; instead, I empower them to experience luxury without exploitation. LADY CONFIDENCE is built on three core principles: sustainability, ethics, and intimacy. Everything is handmade by me, customized for the person in front of me, and developed with intentionality. I do not believe in convincing people to buy; I believe in letting the product speak for itself. My mission is simple: to allow the world to smell beautiful and help individuals go out into the world with confidence. Every compliment they receive on their aroma becomes a source of validation, a boost of presence and pride.
To reinforce the seriousness and structure of my work, I have pursued formal preparation. I earned a business certification from the UTRGV ECC Blueprint Program in 2024 and, just recently, received two certifications from the Louis Vuitton Maison House: one in Creation and Branding and one in Operations and Supply Chain, with an emphasis on ethical and ecological product design. These programs have solidified what I have practiced for years and given my brand additional validation. Clients now trust that LADY CONFIDENCE is not only handcrafted and beautiful but also professionally executed and backed by expertise. When I custom-match aromas to their descriptions and desires, when they walk away with bottles they co-designed (including name, color, shimmer, and label), they leave with more than a perfume; they leave with an experience. That is what makes it all worth it.
Our plans for the future are confidential but extraordinary. What I can say is this: LADY CONFIDENCE is more than a perfume brand; it is a blueprint for a new kind of consumerism. Our clients walk away not just with a scent but with a mindset, one that values sustainability, responsibility, and collaboration between creators and customers. We are planting a seed that may one day change the world. Even if we never sit under its shade or taste its fruit, we will know that we helped it grow. Our legacy will be a conscious shift away from mindless acquisition and toward meaningful exchange; one perfume at a time, we are redefining what it means to create, to sell, and to serve.
